ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY AIMS

Our general objectives as a
company are to:

	Comply with all legal regulations, and exceed the minimum standards where possible.
	Keep the day to day running of the company as "green" as possible, helping our administrators and craftsmen to keep the environmental impact of their work in mind.
	Involve staff in the implementation of this policy, always keeping them abreast of changes and alterations.
	Regularly research, and try to utilise, new methods of conducting a more environmentally friendly business.
	Consider and evaluate the environmental impact of all our entrepreneurial decisions.
	Continually review the policy, so as to stay as environmentally friendly as we can be. At least annually, somebody will completely revise the policy to incorporate any more up to date information.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY AIMS

Paper and Office Supplies

	We minimise the use of paper in the office through high use of electronic storage, disks, memory sticks etc.
	We recycle all appropriate material to cut down the amount of rubbish we produce.
	We reduce packaging as much as possible, using re-usable protective furniture blanket wraps to transit package for shipping Solid Surfaces.
	We evaluate whether the need for any office supplies can be met in another way, only ordering when stocks of completely necessary products are low.
	We evaluate if renting/sharing is an option before purchasing equipment of any kind.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY AIMS

	We seek to buy more environmentally friendly and efficient products, often checking if there are equivalent "green" versions of our usual purchases. For example; our biggest supplier; Corian has introduced six new colours which contain up to 14 % recycled post-industrial material. We make attempts to use these wherever possible.
	Envelopes, jiffy bags, and paper of all kinds are reused where possible and recycled where not.
	Cardboard used in the workshop is always recycled.

Energy and Water

	We heat the workshop by recycling the heat energy generated by our CNC machine, topped up with one Sealey infra-red cabinet heater.
	Lights and electrical equipment are switched off when the office closes, and rooms not in use will not be lit up.
	We do not have central heating in any part of our premises.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY AIMS

	The energy efficiency and consumption of new products is taken into account when purchasing them, in particular workshop tools.
	We do not use a dishwasher, saving water and energy by doing all washing by hand.
	Energy saving light bulbs are used throughout the workshop and office complexes.

Transportation

	We seek to make use of travel alternatives for the sake of communication- such as e-mails, video calls and group conference calls.
	We make efforts to accommodate the needs of those using buses, trains, bicycles or any other form of public transport.
	Where car share schemes are possible we encourage these, making staff aware of their proximity to other staff.
	We make every effort to combine installs, collections and deliveries into single trips in order to minimise the environmental impact of our commercial vehicles.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY AIMS

	Our vans all have green credentials
	Our Renualt Trafic Van produces co2 emissions of less than 195g per kilometre, at least 5% of its plastic mass is recycled and 95% of the materials used in it could have a second life. Our Mercedes Sprinter has a diesel particulate filter engine. Our Mini Clubman template vehicle has a fuel consumption of 72.4mpg and co2 emissions of 103g per kilometre.

Maintenance, Waste and Cleaning

	We have a specialist Sewage Treatment Plant
	To use the above to its full advantage we:
	Use environmentally friendly cleaning products and chemicals will be used wherever it is possible to do so, in particular "eco" cleaning fluids. Only use these in quantities recommended by the manufacturers.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY AIMS

Continually use the same cleaning fluids, so the bacteria in the plant will work more effectively. Tend towards the usage of liquid cleaners rather than powders. Do not put any of the following substances down the toilet: sanitary towels, medicines, mouthwash, tampons, baby wipes, disposable nappies, cooking oils, fat, garden chemicals or engine oil. Materials used in the office refurbishment are as environmentally friendly as possible. For Example: in the construction of our showroom, every effort is and will be made to use off-cuts and sheets of Solid Surface that we already have.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY Avonite Recycled Swatches
